Safe And Effective Use Of Pesticides
Why This Course?
Pesticides pose health hazards since they are intended to eliminate living organisms, including humans and pets if improperly handled. Pesticide exposure can occur through inhalation, ingestion, or skin and eye contact. Depending on the specific pesticide and the degree of exposure, this can result in various health issues. Moreover, pesticides pose a threat to the environment. They can contaminate soil and water sources, harming beneficial insects, wildlife, and fish. Improper use can also damage the plants we intend to safeguard, disrupting ecosystems and leading to long-term environmental
consequences. That is why it is crucial to provide training for the potato value chain actors directly involved in the storage, distribution, and/or application of pesticides.
